Randolph Williamson Brokers Sale of Historic Downtown Property in Fayetteville, Georgia

Local development authority looks to expand downtown renaissance with acquisition of key land parcel

ATLANTA (November 16, 2017) – Randolph Williamson, a full-service commercial real estate and construction services firm based in Peachtree City, announced today the sale of a land parcel at 195 Stonewall Avenue in Fayetteville, Georgia. The property provides a key link in ongoing revitalization and expansion efforts in the city’s historic downtown area.

Randolph Williamson associate broker James Clark and principal Brent Randolph represented the seller, JM Garden Properties, LLP. The City of Fayetteville Downtown Development Authority purchased the 1.79-acre property, which lies between Stonewall Avenue and Lanier Avenue and is within easy walking distance of downtown attractions like the historic train depot and Holliday-Dorsey-Fife Museum. The site also includes a historic home built in 1903, which originally belonged to the Lester family. Development Authority officials said the building could eventually be converted for office or commercial use.

“We are pleased to finalize the purchase of this historic land parcel, which will play an important role in our ongoing Fayetteville Downtown Master Plan. Preserving the historic home was of primary importance to us,” said Brian Wismer, Downtown Development Director for the City of Fayetteville. “Randolph Williamson’s professionalism and efficiency made this a seamless transaction that will provide great value to the city and our residents. We look forward to sharing more news on our plans for the site in the months ahead.”

The property is currently zoned for commercial/other use, with more than 30,000 vehicles per day traveling through the area.

“The City of Fayetteville has been a valued partner of ours for many years,” said Brent Randolph, principal of Randolph Williamson. “This transaction moves the Downtown Development Authority closer to its goal of achieving a downtown that will retain its historical integrity and charm while providing residents and businesses with new opportunities and an updated atmosphere. Both professionally as a local business and personally as neighbors, we look forward to seeing the Fayetteville Downtown Master Plan brought to life.”

Randolph Williamson currently has over 500 acres of land listed in Fayetteville with 50 acres listed in Downtown Fayetteville. The company will continue to partner with its clients and the City of Fayetteville in finding innovative ways that maximize the potential for usage of buildings and land in the historic downtown district.
