F45 Training staff, clients can get loud while adjacent tenants enjoy peace and quiet

PEACHTREE CITY, Georgia (Sept. 21, 2017) – Randolph Williamson has completed construction of F45 Training, a new Australian fitness concept, in The Shops at Buckhead. And, while the fitness center staff and clients enjoy workouts with high-energy music pumping, their neighbors won’t notice thanks to movie industry soundproofing techniques used in construction.

F45 offers members high-intensity, 45-minute workouts, with each class led by two instructors. Staff use more than two dozen workouts – with more in development – so clients rarely do the same workout twice. The F45 location in The Shops at Buckhead is the first in Atlanta, though the company has about 800 studios worldwide.

“Many of the same techniques we use in building soundstages for clients in the entertainment industry were great for F45,” said Mark Williamson, president of construction and CFO of Randolph Williamson. “They need to be able to enjoy an upbeat soundtrack while clients are exercising. And, to be good neighbors, they wanted that sound confined to their space. We are working with several new franchisees to spread the F45 brand throughout Atlanta.”

Randolph Williamson outfitted the F45 Training studio with sound-dampening insulation, along with using other sound-reducing building techniques, including “floating walls,” which prevent sound vibrations from traveling through rigid parts of the building, such as studs, joists and masonry walls.
